Here's my analysis of last night's episode. I'm relatively new here(have had a few comments), so...yeah
Beyond Belief Dance Company: Yeah...I just don't get them at all. Usually what I look for in a dance act is whether they're able to convey emotion or surprise, and while I definitely see that they're trying to have this fierce attitude, it kind of came off stunted to me. However, I could see them reaching at least the quarterfinals.
Unicircle Flow: Definitely one of the more unique acts I've seen on Got Talent. Don't necessarily know how to categorize them in terms of how far they'll go, but I think they could be a potential dark horse.
Larger Than Life: I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at them. They were truly bad, but I agree with Sofia that they weren't AS horrible as the other judges thought(They're definitely not Sethward level bad)
Korean Soul: What a pleasant surprise. I loved that they weren't your conventional Kpop boy band, but I want to hear more individuality out of them moving forward, because I think they have great potential
Matt Johnson: Now, I love escape artists on this show, but here's the thing: most other people don't. Matt, while certainly one of the craziest escape artists the franchise has ever had(due to his long hiatus and his apparently crazy stunts on BGT), won't have the staying power. If I had a choice between him and say, Spencer Horsman, I would take Spencer any day. That being said, I did like his concept however, he's the first escape artist who's life I'm actually worried for.
Patrick Kun: I love magic now that it has become more prevalent on these shows and I love how Patrick Kun adds an element of entrepreneurship to his performances. However, to me at least, it was eerily similar to Shin Lim's Judge Cuts performance, and while I always am rooting for magicians, I don't think it will be their year. Overall, good performance from Patrick, but I can't see him going past the semis
Johnny Showcase: Oh my God. Me and my mom were dying of laughter while watching this guy. He truly is a hilarious human being and his performance was a breath of fresh air. I hope he makes it at least past the Judge Cuts, because I honestly find him hilarious
The Curtis Family C-Notes- Definitely the best band the group has ever had. I loved their whole vibe and their spunk and I really want them to go far because we really haven't seen a band breach the quarterfinals in quite a while
Les Beaux Frères: I don't care what anyone says: best act of the night. Not only with the comedic presentation and timing, but with the sheer and utter cleanliness. As for the whole "one-trick pony" thing, they did say they were a circus act, so they may have a couple tricks up their sleeve if they want to risk it all
Gina Brillon: I really loved her edginess and thought she was much better than the father-son duo
Nightbirde: I honestly am a bit tired of singers getting GBs, but there was something about her tone and haunting vocals that really caught my attention. She kind of reminds me a bit of Halsey. So, while I'm kind of disappointed that she's another singer GB, I see no qualms with it because she truly deserved it and not just for her story.
Postscript: I was really disappointed that they montaged Jonio and Preston. I loved Jonio's performance on Penn and Teller: Fool Us and really wanted to see more of him even if was the same trick
