1aChord was a vocal trio from Season 16 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Semifinals.
Background[]
Brought together by divine intervention, Tavis Cunningham, Christoff Hairston and Julian Kennedy ran into each other one day in the cafe of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The group recorded a video of their first time singing together, and it instantly went viral. As the group began preparing for "AGT," they quickly found their musical niche, developed a close bond and generated a strong fan base.

1aChord's audition in Episode 1601 consisted of singing "Fix You" by Coldplay. Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes", sending the group to the next round.

1aChord was chosen to advance to the Top 36.
Quarterfinals[]
1aChord's Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1609 consisted of singing REM's "Everybody Hurts". Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell all gave them standing ovations. They received enough votes to advance to the Semifinals in Episode 1610 instead of Gangstagrass.
Semifinals[]
1aChord's Semifinals performance in Episode 1617 consisted of singing The Police's "Every Breath You Take" backed by a gospel choir. Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara gave them standing ovations. They did not receive enough votes to advance to the Finals in Episode 1618, eliminating them from the competition instead of Northwell Health Nurse Choir.
