America's Got Talent Wiki

Alyen & Maria was a dance duo from Season 15 of America's Got Talent. Whether or not they advanced past the auditions is not known.

Background[]

Alyen & Maria consists of married couple Alyenendrov Tsorokean and Maria Wheeler who are a professional cabaret dance duo residing in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Alyendrov was born in Michigan and learnt responsibility at a young age due to being the 3rd child in a family of 11 siblings. At the age of 5, he and his family moved to a farm before he began to partake in extracurricular activities ranging from track and field to martial arts before partaking in cheer in college due to its profound connection to his athleticism. Upon discovering he’d need to take a gruelling PE class to fulfil a requirement for the Cincinnati Ballet, Alyendrov opted to drop out of college and pursue ballroom instead.

Maria has been a lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Ohio and was offered dance classes by a dance studio owner at her Zumba class. Maria gladly accepted his offer and further fostered her love for dance. Maria is the eldest of 5 siblings and has been dancing since her youth; having trained in multiple different dance styles ranging from Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Clogging & Modern. Maria has also performed on stage in productions of The King and I and Guys & Dolls. Prior to taking up a dance career, Maria worked as a middle school mathematics teacher. Maria would later go on to meet Alyendrov at her dance studio and at his suggestion the pair would partner in a wide variety of dance styles.

The pair won The Open in both 2018 & 2019. Additionally in 2019, Alyen & Maria competed on the 3rd season of NBC’s World of Dance where they were cut in the Upper Division Qualifiers.
