Chapkidz was a dance group from Season 16 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Semifinals.
Background[]
ChapKidz is a competitive dance team and training program for intermediate and advanced dancers. The 30-strong dance act ranges from 12-18 years old, has won numerous national and international competitions and has received awards for choreography. Members include top-working dancers in the country who have appeared in music videos, commercials, world tours, TV shows and movies.
Chapkidz trains at Chapkis Dance Studio in California and are a younger version of Season 10 act Chapkis Dance Family.
Audition[]
Chapkidz's audition in Episode 1606 consisted of dancing to "A Palé" and "Que No Salga La Luna" by Rosalía. All 4 judges voted "Yes", sending them to the next round.
Deliberations[]
Chapkidz was chosen to advance to the Top 36.
Quarterfinals[]
Chapkidz's Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1613 consisted of performing a dance routine to Daddy Yankee's "Problema". Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell all gave them standing ovations. They received enough votes to advance to the Semifinals in Episode 1614 instead of The Curtis Family C-Notes.
Semifinals[]
Chapkidz's Semifinals performance in Episode 1617 consisted of performing a dance routine to Daddy Yankee and Snow's "Con Calma". Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell all gave them standing ovations. The group did not receive enough votes to advance to the Finals in Episode 1618, eliminating them from the competition instead of Brooke Simpson.
