Chris Kläfford was a singer and guitarist from Season 14 of America's Got Talent.  He was eliminated in the Semifinals.

Background[]

Chris Kläfford began his musical journey when he first picked up the guitar at the age of nine, and soon thereafter he started singing. Chris has had the dream of entertaining and moving people with his music his entire life. At times people around him have told him to choose another path, or to "get a real job" to support himself financially. While finances have been a struggle on and off over the years as he played low-paying cover gigs, Chris has never given up on what he truly loves to do: writing and performing his own music. Never giving up on his dream and refusing to have a backup plan has gotten Chris this far in life. Now he wants to see how far his dream can take him and his music. [1]

Chris was the winner of Swedish Idol in 2017.

Audition[]

Chris Kläfford's audition in Episode 1406 consisted of singing and playing guitar to John Lennon's "Imagine." Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes," sending Chris to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts[]

Chris Kläfford's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1407 consisted of singing and playing the guitar to an original song titled "Something Like Me." Howie MandelGabrielle UnionJulianne Hough, Simon Cowell, and guest judge Brad Paisley all gave him standing ovations. His performance was strong enough for the judges to advance to the Quarterfinals instead of Damiyr.

Quarterfinals[]

Chris Kläfford's Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1413 consisted of singing and playing the guitar to an original song titled "Cold at the Altar." Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough gave him standing ovations. Chris finished in 6th, 7th or 8th place in America's Vote. In the Dunkin' Save, he received more online votes than Charlotte Summers and Ndlovu Youth Choir, advancing to the Semifinals in Episode 1414.

Semifinals[]

Chris Kläfford's Semifinals performance in Episode 1419 consisted of singing and playing the guitar to an original song titled "If Not With You, For You".  Julianne Hough gave him a standing ovation.  Chris did not receive enough votes to advance to the Finals in Episode 1420, eliminating him from the competition along with Dom Chambers instead of V.Unbeatable.
