Christina & Ali was a vocal duo from Season 5 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Finals.
Background[]
Both Christina & Ali, along with their two other siblings, were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when they were very young. Initially performing as soloists, the girls came together a year before their audition to sing at their older sister’s funeral as a special tribute to her.
Each sister has her own unique strengths: Ali is a vocal Swiss Army knife (she can even yodel!), and Christina leaves listeners stunned by her huge voice. Ali & Christina dream of inspiring people who may face challenges or who have lost hope with their message that each day is a gift where there is joy to be experienced and dreams to be realized while navigating through our personal trials. 1
Audition[]
Christina & Ali's audition in Episode 508 in Portland, Oregon consisted of singing "The Climb" together. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending the duo to the Vegas Round.
Vegas Round[]
Christina & Ali were one of the Standby Acts in the Vegas Round. They were sorted into the "Vocal Groups" category. Their performance in Episode 512 consisted of singing "Temporary Home"s together. Their audition was strong enough for the judges to send them to the Quarterfinals.
Quarterfinals[]
Christina & Ali's Quarterfinals performance in Episode 513 in Week 1 consisted of singing "God Bless the Broken Road." Christina and Ali received enough votes to send them to the Semifinals in Episode 514 instead of The Hot Shot Tap Dancers and Maricar.
Semifinals[]
Christina & Ali's Semifinals performance in Episode 525 consisted of singing "When You Believe" together. Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel said their singing was getting stronger and remained an inspiration. Piers Morgan said the performance was not the best, but that they are very nice. Christina & Ali finished in fifth or sixth place in America's Vote. In the Judges' Choice, although Howie did not vote for them, Piers and Sharon did, sending them to the Finals in Episode 526 instead of Connor Doran.
Top 10[]
Christina & Ali's Top 10 Finals performance in Episode 529 consisted of singing "Love You I Do" together. Sharon Osbourne was blown away by Christina's high notes and felt they had gotten better every performance. Howie Mandel loved them, but worried for them because of their tough competition. Piers Morgan was impressed by their growth in talent in the contest and also felt they were becoming great entertainers. The pair did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Final 4, eliminating it from the competition in Episode 530 along with Jeremy Vanschoonhoven.
After the Show[]
In 2011, Christina & Ali teamed up with the Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated producer/songwriting team Dogmatics (Michael Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, Natalie Grant, PureNRG) to write and produce “Love is Gonna Find You” the new single from their new EP debuting in February 2012. 2
In 2023, Christina & Ali appeared on the CBS revival of the game show Lingo and won $92,000.
