Coney Island Chris, whose real name is Chris Allison, was a sideshow performer from Season 4 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Background[]

Chris Allison is an event planner. “Coney Island Chris” Allison draws on a rich history of traditional sideshow feats of human strength and endurance popularized on circus midways and along the boardwalk at Coney Island. Chris’ brand of comedy chaos has become a popular attraction at nightclubs across the country.

Coney Island Chris learned many of his sideshow skills from some of the original performers who popularized the acts on midways across the country. Entertainment blogger and recent audience member Andrea Reiher described Chris as a “terrifying Jerry Lewis”. Reviewer Walt Hudson said that “Chris’ sideshow parody left the audience breathless and gasping with laughter”. 1

Audition[]

Chris Allison's audition in Episode 403 consisted of eating a light bulb and of blood appearing to drip from his mouth. David Hasselhoff buzzed the act. Although David Hasselhoff most likely voted “No”, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne both voted "Yes", sending Chris to the Vegas Round.

Vegas Round[]

Chris Allison appeared without performing in the Vegas Round. His audition was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals in Episode 412.

Quarterfinals[]

Coney Island Chris' Quarterfinals performance in Episode 419 consisted of lighting his tongue on fire, fire breathing, and lighting his buttocks on fire, all while making fire-related puns. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and David Hasselhoff all buzzed the act terminating the performance. Piers felt Chris wasn't funny & entertaining. Sharon felt Chris wasn't in the standard of acts who made it to the semifinals. David followed suit with the other judges. Chris did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals, eliminating him from the competition in Episode 420 along with African High Flyers and Pam Martin's Top Dogs.

Trivia[]

  • His Quarterfinals performance was the last act David Hasselhoff buzzed as a judge.
