Damiyr Shuford is an actor and singer/songwriter out of Brooklyn, New York represented by the Carson Kolker Agency. Starting off in the musical theater world and then branching out into straight theater and Shakespeare, Damiyr discovered his love and appreciation for Film and TV acting when he debuted in his first TV appearance as boxer "Tank" Jefferson on Law & Order Criminal Intent beside Michael B. Jordan. After several years and a handful of productions under his belt, Damiyr made the decisions to go study at The William Esper Studio in New York City in order to increase his ability to effectively and truthfully tell a story. Having graduated the two year program in June 2018, Damiyr is well equipped to take on the many challenges of the Actor. [1]
Audition[]
Damiyr's audition was not televised, but in a brief flashback he sang "Stay" by Rihanna. His verdict was not televised either, but at least three judges voted "Yes," sending him to the Judge Cuts.
Judge Cuts[]
Damiyr's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1407 consisted of singing A Great Big World's "Say Something." Howie Mandel , Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough, Simon Cowell, and guest judge Brad Paisley all gave him standing ovations. His performance was not strong enough for the judges to advance to the Quarterfinals eliminating him from the competition instead of Chris Kläfford.
