Daniel Simu was an Acrobotics act from Season 19 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Deliberations.
Background[]
Daniel Simu is from the Netherlands and both dances and performs acrobatics alongside a robot that he built himself named Robin. Daniel performed with humans for most of his life, however believed they were flimsy as they could get injured, go out and disappear or moved to other countries, most of which a robot performing partner could not do.
Audition[]
Daniel Simu’s performance in Episode 1904 consisted of performing an acrobatics routine whilst accompanied by his self built robot named Robin to Junior Senior’s “Move Your Feet”. Heidi Klum buzzed the act. Although Heidi voted “No”, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell voted "Yes", sending him to the next round.
Deliberations[]
Daniel revealed on his YouTube channel that he was not selected to advance to the live shows. He mentioned “Not having the time and budget to manufacture more robots” like Simon requested and his other pitched ideas were not popular amongst the producers.
After the Show[]
Additionally in 2024, Simu auditioned for the 10th season of Spain's Got Talent. His audition consisted of performing an acrobotics routine whilst accompanied by his self built robot named Robin to Fred Astaire’s ‘Cheek to Cheek’. They advanced onto the following round with 4 ‘Yes’ votes from the judges.
