Dave Smith One Man Sideshow was a sideshow performer from Season 1 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Semifinals.

Background[]

Dave Smith was always kind of a class clown as a child for he always wanted to be the center of attention. He did not start performing until he was a teenager. He is six and a half feet tall. He recently changed his name to "David Darwin." He performed with the name "Dave Smith" for many years but he always thought it was too common. When he got married, his wife didn't like her last name either so they decided to pick a new last name and both switch to that. [1]

Audition[]

Dave Smith's audition in Episode 102 consisted of singing "Bend Me, Shape Me" while playing the guitar and his legs were contorted behind his head. David Hasselhoff buzzed the act. Although David voted "No," Piers Morgan and Brandy Norwood both voted "Yes", sending Dave to the Semifinals.

Semifinals[]

Dave Smith One Man Sideshow's Week 4 Semifinals performance in Episode 110 consisted of singing "The Masochism Tango" while performing sideshow acts such as having his assistant break a slab of concrete over his back as he laid on a bed of nails and standing on broken glass. Although Brandy Norwood gave him a "✓" vote, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff both gave Dave "X" votes. Dave did not receive enough votes to finish in at least second place in America's Vote, eliminating him from the competition in Episode 111 instead of Celtic Spring and David & Dania - Quick Change.

Trivia[]
