Born in a suburb north of Boston, Massachusetts, Deanna DellaCioppa learned early how to sing. Her mother filled their home with the music of Wonder, Streisand and Presley, helping Deanna to appreciate musical diversity at an early age. With her hairbrush in hand, Deanna made the family basement her stage and practiced her singing along with Whitney Houston, Donna Summer and Patsy Cline records. From there she discovered Prince, Sting, and Patti from Doug.
While most high school seniors were filling out college apps, Deanna was recording a professional demo. At age 17, while taking a break from a vocal session, Deanna was putting quarters into her parking meter and singing aloud. Her Hollywood story began when a staff member at the esteemed Berklee College of Music heard her voice and discovered Deanna. Impressed by her singing abilities, she was placed into the prestigious college's 5 week extensive Summer Performance Program. By the end of it, Deanna had wowed the institution into giving her a full tuition scholarship to study.
Deanna has had the honor of performing with Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Yolanda Adams, Cece Winans, Crystal Waters, Joan Osborne, The Chieftains, Martha Wash, Ann Nesby, Angelo & Veronica, War, Average White Band, Sweet Sensation, Steve Smith of Journey, and Lisa Page of Witness, to name a few! She has also been invited to perform for Patti Labelle, Oleta Adams, Terri Lynne Carrington, Armand Zildjian, Horace Silver, Arif Mardin, Alan Silvestri, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, and Pat Metheny, as well as wowing the audiences of LA’s famous “R&B Live”.
In 2000, she co-wrote and sang the massive worldwide dance single, "Higher", produced by 1999 Grammy winner, David Morales & Albert Cabrera, which went to 3 on the Billboard Dance Play charts. The song alone has also been on over 30 compilation albums worldwide. She was also awarded The Heineken Music Initiative / The ASCAP Foundation R&B Grant for her song "I've Been Waiting (Someone Like You)”, as well as countless ASCAPlus awards.
Deanna's single & album credits include: Top 20 R&B hit: Charlie Wilson “Life Of The Party” (Jive Records), Cody Simpson “Guitar Cry” (Atlantic), Cassie “Sound Of Love” (Manhattan), Mya “Alive” & “Fabulous Life” (Manhattan Records), Justice Crew “Sexy & You Know It” (Sony), Lil’ Eddie *”Heart Of Glass”, “You Know Who You Are”, “Momma”, “In Another Life”, “Outta This World” (Manhattan Records), Ehsan “Dance Our Way Back (Into Love)” (Star Base), Bret Ryan “She’s Beautiful” (Universal Records), Three Graces “A Man Like My Father” (Universal Classics/Decca Records), Akina Nakamori “Heartache” (Universal Japan Records).
