Double Dragon was a vocal duo from Season 15 of America's Got Talent. They made it to the Semifinals.
Background[]
Andrea and Irene Ramos (born March 18, 1988), also known as the Double Dragon twins, are a Peruvian-born and raised singing and performance duo. The twins made their TV debut at the age of 8 on Peru's children television show "De Colores" as backup dancers.
In 2004, at the age of 16, Irene auditioned for a singing competition called "Desafio de Estrellas," in which the winners of seven groups of seven participants each faced off to determine the best singer. Irene won the competition. That same year, Andrea auditioned for a TV reality/competition show called "Pop tu Show," and she went on to win a spot in a five-member girls' band.
In 2012, Andrea and Irene were part of the TV show known as "Divas" in "America TV" where again they were casted to participate as a duet. The show would go on to become a success and they won the show to become known as the new "Divas" of Peru.
In 2014 the twins, would go to become participants of La Voz Peru via Latina Televisión (The Voice), they auditioned separately, Irene spinned all 4 chairs in her rendition of "Fallin' by Alicia Keys" and Andrea followed her sister's audition by doing the same her in blind audition and getting all four judges to turn their chair with her interpretation of "Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston". Irene picked Jose Luis Rodriguez as her coach, and Andrea picked Eva Ayllon as hers.
The twins were inspired to participate in AGT because of Simon Cowell. They have been huge fans of his for years. They are currently prominent TikTokers boasting a substantial following of over 3.4 million dedicated fans. In addition to their TikTok success, they are also revered as influencers, making them the act from Season 15 with the most amount of followers across all of social media. Furthermore, they showcase their talents not only as singers but also as entertainers, captivating audiences with their multifaceted skills.
Andrea married her fiancé, David Slavich, in a private ceremony held at San Francisco's Olympic Club on May 28, 2024. David, also appeared in the audience during their audition and in the show's supplementary footage during their quarterfinals performance. Andrea was joined in celebrating her special day surrounded by close family and friends.
Audition[]
Double Dragon's audition in Episode 1501 consisted of singing The Weather Girls' "It's Raining Men". Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes", sending them to the next round.
Judge Cuts[]
Double Dragon automatically advanced to the Quarterfinals without performing in Episode 1508.
Quarterfinals[]
Double Dragon's Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1509 consisted of singing Ariana Grande, Jesse J and Nicki Minaj's "Bang Bang" and Ozuna's "Taki Taki". The girls finished in 4th, 5th or 6th place in America's Vote. In the Dunkin' Save, they received fewer online votes than Brett Loudermilk. In the Judges' Choice, Kelly Clarkson did not vote for them but Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel did, advancing to the Semifinals in Episode 1510 instead of Feng E.
Semifinals[]
Double Dragon's Semifinals performance in Episode 1517 consisted of singing Lizzo's "Juice" and J Balvin‘s “Mi Gente.” Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara gave them standing ovations. They did not receive enough votes to advance to the Finals in Episode 1518, eliminating them from the competition instead of Broken Roots who went on to be runner-ups for the show.
