Emily West was a singer from Season 9 of America's Got Talent. She was the runner-up of the competition.

Background[]

Emily West moved to Nashville at 18 and had minor success as a country music artist. She packed a bag for New York to try to hear herself think and reinvent herself.

West has been featured in People Magazine and completed a media tour for her debut single, "Rocks in Your Shoes, which was in the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in early 2008. In January 2010, West released a duet with label mate Keith Urban titled "Blue Sky." The song debuted at No. 53 on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for the week of February 23, 2010. It spent thirteen weeks on the charts and peaked at No. 38. West donated 100% of the first month of iTunes sales of "Blue Sky" to the Stonewall Community Foundation.

West appeared in a 2010 episode of Celebrity Apprentice as the "music make-over" target for the women's team led by Cyndi. She recently appeared in the "Shades of Blue" episode on Body of Proof on ABC.

West released independently her EP, 'I Hate You, I Love You'. It was #2 on the singer/songwriter itunes chart for two weeks sandwiched between James Taylor and The Civil Wars.

West is currently working on a new look and sound with Sir Ks Rhoads. 1

Audition[]

Emily West's audition in Episode 904 consisted of singing "Sea of Love" while accompanied by guitarist Jesse Hall. Howard SternHeidi KlumMel B, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending Emily to Judgment Week.

Judgment Week[]

Emily West was sorted into the "Female Singers" category in Judgment Week. Her performance in Episode 907 consisted of singing Roy Orbison's "You Got It." Emily's performance was strong enough for the judges to send her to the Quarterfinals along with Anna Clendening and Kelli Glover in Episode 908.

Quarterfinals[]

Emily West's Week 1 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 909 consisted of singing Sia's "Chandelier." Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Mel B all gave her standing ovations. Emily received enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 910 instead of Jasmine Flowers and Valo & Bobby.

Semifinals[]

Emily West's Week 1 Semifinals performance in Episode 917 consisted of singing Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever." Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all gave her a standing ovation. Emily received enough votes to be sent to the Top 12 Finals in Episode 918.

Top 12[]

Emily West's Top 12 Finals performance in Episode 921 consisted of singing The Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin." Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all gave Emily standing ovations. Emily received enough votes to be sent to the Final 6 in Episode 922 instead of Mara Justine.

Final 6[]

Emily West's Top 6 Finals recap performance in Episode 923 consisted of singing Sia's "Chandelier" again. Howard Stern and Heidi Klum gave her standing ovations. Emily's second performance of the night consisted of singing Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." Howard, Heidi, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all gave Emily standing ovations.

Finale[]

For the finale in Episode 924, Emily West performed "True Colors" in a duet with Cyndi Lauper. Emily was revealed to have finished in second place in the competition that same night, in front of AcroArmy, Sons of Serendip, Quintavious Johnson, and Miguel Dakota, but behind Mat Franco.
