It was the first of seven auditions episodes. 13 acts from this episode proceeded to the Judge Cuts, and 3 acts were rejected. One act was sent straight to the Quarterfinals.

Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all returned as judges (this panel's third consecutive season). Nick Cannon returned as host for his seventh season.
