The eighth episode of Season 3, and the thirty-fifth episode of America's Got Talent overall, aired on August 5, 2008. It was the first Vegas Round episode and took place in Las Vegas. 60 acts from this episode proceeded to the Top 60 Shortlist, and 53 acts were eliminated.
Process[]
The 113 acts that passed through the auditions were trimmed down to a short list of 60 acts, 40 of which would become Quarterfinalists. The 113 acts were split into three groups: those eliminated immediately, Music, and Variety, before any act performed in front of the judges. After everyone had performed, the judges brought the acts in different groups in which certain members of each group moved on and others were eliminated.
