The first episode of Season 8, and the one hundred and sixty-ninth episode of America's Got Talent overall, aired on June 4, 2013. It was an auditions episode that took place in San Antonio,  New York, and Los Angeles. 14 acts from this episode proceeded to the Vegas Round, and 8 acts were rejected.


Episode 801 was the debut episode of both Heidi Klum and Mel B as judges. Both replaced Sharon Osbourne, who left the show over a dispute with NBC.
