Eric Jones was a magician act from Season 12 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Semifinals in the Judges' Choice.

Background

Eric Jones is beginning to make a name for himself in the world of close-up magic. Armed with sleight of hand, Eric dazzles his audiences with his digital dexterity. He uses these tools to politely deceive and entertain his audiences. Ordinary, everyday items become objects of fancy as Eric delicately handles them. Coins multiply, cards fly, and audiences cheer.

An award winning performer, Eric’s magic has been showcased at Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA, and NYC’s Monday Night Magic, the longest running magic show in New York. Eric has appeared on television in 13 countries spanning 4 continents and has wowed dozens of A List celebrities. As an author, creator, performer and consultant, Eric's expertise is sought out by Fortune 500 companies such as Merrill Lynch, State Farm and Coca-Cola. [1]

Eric was a contestant on Season 2 of Penn & Teller: Fool Us where he successfully fooled the duo.

Audition

Eric Jones' audition in Episode 1205 consisted of performing an illusion where a coin appeared to teleport from his hand into Mel B's hand. Although Simon Cowell voted "No", Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Heidi Klum voted "Yes", sending Eric to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts

Eric Jones' Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1207 consisted of performing magic in which he asked guest judge Chris Hardwick to sign a playing card. Eric then changed the back of the card from blue to red. Eric then appeared to move Hardwick's signed card into Simon Cowell's buzzer. Finally, Eric smashed the buzzer with a hammer and retrieved a card from inside: this card was the one Hardwick had signed. Eric's performance was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals instead of Tom London.

Quarterfinals

Eric Jones' Week 2 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1213 consisted first of having Howie Mandel sign a random playing card. Next, he had Mel B and Heidi Klum hold a piece of glass. Eric then pressed a poker chip against the class with his left until it appeared to pass through the glass onto his right hand. Next, he had Howie press a set of cards, with the signed card included, onto a much larger piece of glass. Eric pulled the signed card from Howie's cards through the glass. Finally, Eric appeared to have his entire body pass through the glass behind a piece of cloth. Mel and Heidi gave Eric standing ovations. Eric finished in sixth, seventh or eighth place in America's Vote. In the Dunkin' Save, he received fewer online votes than Evie Clair. In the Judges' Choice, Mel B and Howie Mandel voted for him but Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell did not, forcing a tiebreaker; whichever act had received more votes from America would progress. Eric received more votes than The Masqueraders, advancing him to the Semifinals in Episode 1214.

Semifinals

Eric Jones' Week 1 Semifinals performance in Episode 1217 consisted of performing. Eric finished in fourth, fifth or sixth place in America's Vote. In the Dunkin' Save, he received fewer online votes than Evie Clair. In the Judges' Choice, Heidi Klum voted for him but Mel B, Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel did not, eliminating him from the competition in Episode 1218 instead of Chase Goehring.

Trivia
