Arcadian Broad was a dancer from Season 4 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Semifinals.
Background[]
Arcadian was born on February 27, 1996. At the age of 4 he showed a prodigious gift for the piano. By age 9, he won the Young Artist Competition. Soon, he received the opportunity to perform before 2,000 people at the Space Coast Pops 20th Anniversary Concert in Central Florida, as well as many other prestigious events.
In school, Arcadian never thought he was good enough. Other kids would bully him because he was not strong in sports; he was often picked last for teams. While continuing his piano studies he pursued other interests, one in particular being a zealous pursuit in dance training.
His Ballet Training is from Orlando Ballet. Arcadian studies piano under the tutelage of Dr. Gary Wolf. Arcadian has been to Broadway and was a finalist for the title role of Billy in the hit musical Billy Elliot. He trained for two weeks in NYC with Director Stephen Dauldry and Choreographer Peter Darling. [1]
Audition[]
Arcadian Broad's audition in Episode 402 consisted of dancing to Elton John's "I'm Still Standing." Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and David Hasselhoff all voted "Yes", sending Arcadian to the Vegas Round.
Vegas Round[]
Arcadian Broad appeared without performing in the Vegas Round. His audition was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals in Episode 411.
Quarterfinals[]
Arcadian Broad's Week 1 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 413 consisted of playing piano for the beginning of his performance. He then danced to "Footloose." Arcadian finished in either fifth or sixth place in America's Vote. In the Judges' Choice, although Piers Morgan did not vote for him, Sharon Osbourne and David Hasselhoff both did, sending Arcadian to the Semifinals in Episode 414 instead of Thia Megia.
Semifinals[]
Arcadian Broad's Week 1 Semifinals performance in Episode 421 consisted of dancing to "We're All In This Together" from High School Musical. After hearing Piers Morgan's critique, Arcadian commented that the show's producers pushed him to perform with the High School Musical theme. Arcadian did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Finals, eliminating him from the competition in Episode 422 along with Drew Thomas Magic, instead of The Texas Tenors.
After the Show[]
Ellen DeGeneres was so impressed, she invited Arcadian to be on her show. Among the different prestigious dance awards Arcadian has received is his recently awarded Medallion for the Overall Highest Score during The American Dance Competition – 6th Annual International Event – that took place in Daytona Beach, FL. During that same event, Arcadian received the Gold Medal in "Contemporary."
In May of 2011, Arcadian had another amazing opportunity when he performed in Washington D.C. for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Event. Jamie Lee Curtis was Chairperson for the event and Arcadian was able to participate for the cause of helping young people who have experienced these major traumas in their young lives.
The Juilliard School became Arcadian’s next accomplishment when it accepted him in summer, 2011. Attending Juilliard gave him another opportunity of a lifetime with hopes of continuing along with his training there in the future as well.
Arcadian resides in Orlando, FL and continues his studies in dancing, singing, piano, and acting. He hopes to return to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment business. [2]
Arcadian competed on Season 15 of So You Think You Can Dance. He made it past the auditions, but withdrew some time before the live shows.
