Taylor Williamson was a comedian from Season 8 of America's Got Talent. He finished the competition in 2nd place. Taylor returned for America's Got Talent: The Champions, where he were eliminated in the Preliminaries.

Background[]

Taylor Williamson started performing stand-up comedy while he was a senior in high school in Del Mar, California. He now lives in Los Angeles and travels around the U.S. and Canada telling jokes. He has performed at the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, Canada and he was the youngest person to perform on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

He has also appeared on MTV’s TRL (It was canceled 2 weeks later), Comedy Central's Live at Gotham (canceled) and he was a semi-finalist on final season of NBC's Last Comic Standing (canceled twice so far). 1

Audition[]

Taylor Williamson's audition in Episode 804 consisted of joking about struggling to fit a comforter into a duvet (quilt), his having parental instincts in England, and his grandma potentially being a murderer. Howard SternHeidi KlumMel B, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending Taylor to the Vegas Round.

Vegas Round[]

Taylor Williamson was sorted into the "Comedian" category in the Vegas Round. His performance in Episode 808 consisted of joking about being cheap because he's poor, not just because he's Jewish, and telling his kids to be friends with every color of the rainbow, meaning no black people and white people. Taylor's performance was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals along with John Wing in Episode 809.

Quarterfinals[]

Taylor Williamson's Week 4 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 816 consisted of joking about his experience in New York City and "reading" a list of jokes to tell from a small piece of paper. Taylor finished in fourth place in America's Vote. In the Judges' Choice, although Howard Stern and Howie Mandel voted for him, Heidi Klum and Mel B did not, forcing a tiebreaker. Taylor received more votes than Chloe Channell, sending Taylor to the Semifinals.

Semifinals[]

Taylor Williamson's Week 1 Semifinals performance in Episode 820 consisted of joking about "child-appropriate jokes" (in response to Heidi Klum not liking his routine last week because it was inappropriate) about finding a dog attractive, the audience being awkward, and labradoodles being mixes of labs and doodles. Howard Stern and Howie Mandel both gave Taylor standing ovations. Taylor received enough votes to be sent to the Finals in Episode 821 along with Collins Key, instead of Angela Hoover.

Top 12[]

Taylor Williamson's Top 12 Finals performance in Episode 824 consisted of joking about his family, such as about his parents always being politically correct, his mother paying his therapy bills, how his grandma's parents were first cousins, and his grandmother being racist. Taylor received enough votes to be sent to the Final 6 in Episode 825 instead of the KriStef Brothers.

Final 6[]

Taylor Williamson's Top 6 Finals recap performance in Episode 826 consisted of joking about the America's Got Talent producers forcing him to re-tell jokes he had told earlier for his Finals recap perform and then reprising this jokes with additional effects such as fireworks and a choir. His second performance of the night consisted of speaking about his ongoing relationship with Heidi Klum, his dating life, and his weight.

Finale[]

For the finale in Episode 827, Taylor Williamson was interviewed by James Lipton about his favorite and least favorite words. Taylor was revealed to have finished in second place in the competition that same night, under Kenichi Ebina, but over Cami Bradley, Collins Key, Forte, and Jimmy Rose.

After the Show[]

Taylor Williamson made a guest appearance in Season 9 of America's Got Talent in Episode 914 in a video skit depicting his "relationship" with Heidi Klum after last season.


He made a live guest appearance in Season 9 of America's Got Talent in Episode 916 with a stand-up comedy routine about his experience after finishing as runner-up behind Kenichi Ebina.



The Champions Preliminary[]

Taylor’s performance in Episode TC02 consisted of making jokes about taking selfies with Heidi Klum, how he makes more money doing comedy than other celebrities including Bill Cosby and how immigrants take up jobs in America including the judging panel of America's Got Talent.  Taylor did not receive enough votes to advance to the night's Top 3, eliminating him from the competition.

Trivia[]

  • Taylor is the first act to make the top 2 that had to rely on the Judges' Choice in either the Quarterfinals or Semifinals.  He was followed by Duo Transcend in Champions 2.
  • Taylor is the second comedian to finish in second place, the first being Tom Cotter from Season 7.
  • Taylor is one of only two acts, the other being Moonlight Brothers, to receive no standing ovations on the first season of America's Got Talent: The Champions.
