Buddy Holly Cheesehead was a singer and guitarist from Season 5 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the audition round.

Background[]

Buddy Holly Cheesehead, whose real name is Art Paul Schlosser, is one of Madison, Wisconsin’s most recognizable cultural figures, musical or otherwise. From his regular public-access show to his consistent appearances as a State Street busker, Art Paul has made something of a reputation for himself as one of the city’s most original musical personalities.

Over the years, he has released a number of idiosyncratic albums, all self-distributed. His image, with his bright mixture of rainbow- and kazoo-driven melodies, is benevolent and positive. His street performances are consistently popular, since he takes requests and entertains groups that are usually large and enthusiastic. His body of songwriting is extensive, and there are very few opportunities to hear songs like those Art Paul has penned. 1

Audition[]

Buddy Holly Cheesehead's audition in Episode 509 consisted of singing his self-written song "Eating Cheese." Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all buzzed the act. At least two judges voted "No," eliminating Buddy from the competition.
