Gabriel Henrique was a singer from Season 18 of America's Got Talent. He finished in 3rd place in his Semifinal week and was nominated for the Wild Card vote, but did not advance.

Background[]

Brazilian singer Gabriel Henrique, 27, has always dreamed of coming to the United States and performing on the “AGT” stage. With many of his family members in the music industry, he began singing when he was 3, encouraged by his father. Gabriel first gained national attention by competing on a Brazilian show, where he displayed his big voice and vocal range, and has been a local sensation ever since.

Audition[]

Gabriel Henrique's audition in Episode 1808 consisted of singing Whitney Houston's "Run To You". Moved by his performance, Sofia Vergara hit the Golden Buzzer, sending him directly to the Semifinals.

Semifinals[]

Gabriel Henrique's Semifinals performance in Episode 1818 consisted of singing Jacob Banks' "Something Beautiful". Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell all gave him standing ovations. He received enough votes to enter the top 5 of the night in Episode 1819 along with Ramadhani Brothers instead of Lachuné, and the top 3 instead of Eduardo Antonio Trevino and Avantgardey. He finished in 3rd place behind 82nd Airborne Chorus and Ramadhani Brothers, eliminating him from the competition.

Wild Card Vote[]

Gabriel was nominated by Sofia Vergara for the Instant Save Wild Card vote, but did not receive enough votes to return as the 11th finalist.

After the Show[]

In July 2024, Gabriel appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show where he performed Whitney Houston’s “Run To You”.

Trivia[]

  • Gabriel is Sofía Vergara’s first Golden Buzzer to fail to reach the Finals, whereas her previous Golden Buzzers did so since she joined the judging panel in Season 15.
  • Gabriel is one of two Golden Buzzer acts to appear as a Wild Card candidate in Season 18, with the other being Chioma & The Atlanta Drum Academy.
    • However, the first instance of a Golden Buzzer act appearing as a Wild Card candidate is Lily Meola in Season 17. All three aforementioned acts were unable to occupy the 11th finalist slot in their respective seasons.
