Gentlemen of NUCO was a band from Season 5 of America's Got Talent. It was eliminated in the Vegas round
Background[]
Formed in 2005, The Gentlemen of NUCO have forged a unique hybrid style: an uncanny mélange of classical training, rebellious spirit and stunning good looks. They met each other in college outside of Chicago. They perform original arrangements and compositions by members of the group and other living composers. The Gentlemen are Henry Wang, Hugh Palmer, Yoshi Nakano, Charles Asch, Josh Fink, Corey Bertelsen, and Patrick Slevin. 1 Their intent for auditioning was to break the stereotype of classical music.
Audition[]
The Gentlemen of NUCO's audition in Episode 509 consisted of performing "Since U Been Gone" with classical instruments such as violins. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending the group to the Vegas Round.
Vegas Round[]
Gentlemen of NUCO was one of the Standby Acts in the Vegas Round. It was sorted into the "Bands" category. Its performance consisted of performing an instrumental version of "Bad Romance" with classical instruments. Its audition was not strong enough for the judges to send it to the Quarterfinals, eliminating it from the competition along with ShaeLaurel.
