H.B. MONTE is a rapper and DJ from Season 18 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Deliberations.


H.B. MONTE's real name is Fernando Bustamante and he resides in New York. H.B. MONTE describes himself as a DJ, music producer, songwriter and entertainer.

H.B. MONTE grew up in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and the Bronx and dreamt of sporting glory until he required back surgery, which left him with a piece of metal in his spine and made the task of walking difficult for him. After the surgery he needed to re-learn how to walk again at the age of 12. He then launched a professional music career at the age of 13 with the CD player and turntable gifted to him by his family that Christmas before which lead H.B. to perform at events and also at 21-and-up clubs at the age of 16, He continued to pursue music as he grew older and interned at Def Jam / Universal Records and later toured with Mobb Deep / G-Unit. He has also collaborated on tracks with artists such as Pitbull, T-Pain, Beenie Man, Chingy & many more.

In 2021, H.B. MONTE saw his doctor surrounding issues breathing, before spending three weeks in the Intensive Care Unit with Severe Heart Failure, which doctors could not pinpoint the cause of. That same year, his close friend, magician Dustin Tavella won the sixteenth season of the show. H.B. MONTE admired the way that Tavella was able to connect with people and inspire others at his shows, and it was at this point that the DJ came to the realization that the competition show could act as a gateway for him to reach the masses as well as inspire and encourage others.


H.B. MONTE’s audition in Episode 1808 consisted of him performing an original song produced live while rapping with animated depictions of Terry Crews, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel as backing dancers. All 4 judges voted "Yes", sending him to the next round.


H.B. was not chosen as one of the 55 acts to advance to the Semifinals, eliminating him from the competition.
