Jarrett & Raja were magicians from Season 7 of America's Got Talent. The duo was eliminated in the Quarterfinals, but returned for the Wild Card Show, where they were eliminated again.
Background[]
Known as “Master Magician & Piano Genius”, Jarrett & Raja bring to the stage the fusion of magic & music. Acclaimed by “Siegfried & Roy” and “Penn & Teller”, Jarrett & Raja have performed in New York, Las Vegas, and all over the world. Trained by Harry Blackstone, Jr. (Jarrett) and at The Juilliard School (Raja), the duo moved to Las Vegas in 2000 and was immediately booked at The Regent Hotel & Casino and Four Seasons. Since then, Jarrett & Raja performed at the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, the Paris Hotel & Casino main stage, and in China for an extended engagement. The show was a best seller at the prestigious Edinburgh Festival (UK). Soon afterwards, they began working with director Kenny Ortega, (“High School Musical”, Michael Jackson’s “This Is It”). Selfridges London commissioned them to produce their “Vegas SuperNova” event with David LaChapelle, Pamela Anderson and The Pussycat Dolls. In 2007, J&R were invited to star in “Elements” with Daniel Flannery Productions, Michael Curry and Eugenio Zanetti. The following year, they headlined for several months on Holland America Cruises and then went on to Budapest, Hungary to consult on a major film production.
In 2009, Jarrett & Raja were asked to perform with rock band One Republic, travelled to many worldwide corporate events, appeared for the third time on the main stage at Hollywood’s Magic Castle, and signed an exclusive personal management contract with Ron Severini/Castle Talent, Inc. Most recently, they wowed audiences at the world famous “Jubilee!” at Bally’s Las Vegas. For 2010-2012, Jarrett & Raja are thrilled to be Principals in Singapore’s new spectacular, created by Mark Fisher and Phil McKinley, “Voyage De La Vie”. 1
Audition[]
Jarrett & Raja's audition in Episode 702 consisted of slicing Raja in half with a chainsaw, and then Raja playing "In the Hall of the Mountain King" upside-down on the piano. Sharon Osbourne buzzed the act. Howard Stern (claiming he was desperate for a magician) and Howie Mandel voted “Yes”, sending the act to the Vegas Round.
Vegas Round[]
Jarrett & Raja was one of the Standby Acts in the Vegas Round. It was sorted into the "Magic Acts" category. Its performance in Episode 713 consisted of creating the illusion of making an orchestra appear when just seconds before, Raja, playing "Für Elise," was the only one seen. Its audition was strong enough for the judges to send it to the Quarterfinals along with Hawley Magic.
Quarterfinals[]
Jarrett and Raja's Quarterfinals performance in Episode 714 consisted of performing to "Singin' in the Rain" while Jarrett creates the illusion of making women appear out of nowhere from inside towels, with the performance ending with Raja appearing in the shower when before, he was playing the piano. The pair did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals, eliminating it from the competition in Episode 715 along with American BMX Stunt Team, instead of David Garibaldi and His CMYK's.
Wild Card[]
Jarrett & Raja were brought back by Howie Mandel for the Wild Card Show. Jarrett & Raja's performance in Episode 724 consisted of creating the illusion of Raja playing the piano inside a fragile box, the box being lifted in the air and breaking apart, and Raja appearing from a far distance apart in the audience. The duo did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals, eliminating it from the competition in Episode 725.
After the Show[]
The two appeared on season 7 of Shark Tank, where they pitched their company, "Jarrett & Raja Productions". Unfortunately, they left without a deal.
