Background

Gino Martino (real name John Ferraro) was born on November 28th, 1970. Best known by his ring name Gino Martino, John Ferraro is an all American professional strongman and wrestler. He has wrestled for a number of organizations including Paulie Gilmore’s New World Wrestling, NWA New England, New England Championship Wrestling, the Millennium Wrestling Federation and Chaotic Wrestling.

He is considered one of the top brawlers in the Northeast of the United States. The Human Anvil = Gino Martino has a super human skull enabling him to break concrete over his head, he has also had bowling balls dropped onto his skull from a height of 15 feet!

He recently set the Guinness world record for having 45 concrete blocks split over his head! John has been busy performing and he has just recently been on Discovery’s Shark week – Shark after Dark. Additionally in June 2014, The Hammerhead was filmed as a feature on the Record Dei Lo Show (Italia Television).

According to doctors this Super Human has a super thick skull. That is not something that can be learned so please don’t try to replicate his achievements. [1]

Audition

John Ferraro's audition was not televised, but it consisted of attempting a world record involving dropping a bowling ball on top of concrete blocks laying on his head, breaking them. At least three judges voted "Yes", sending John to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts

John Ferraro's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1107 consisted of breaking a clamped baseball bat, a wooden board slammed by another person while having his head pressed against a power drill and extremely large bit , and a cinderblock split with a jack hammer, all with his head. He then slammed a 20d nail through a 1 inch board layered with sheet metal with his forehead. Mel B and Heidi Klum buzzed the act. John's performance was not strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals, eliminating him from the competition along with Duo Guerrero, instead of Hara.

Trivia

  • John Ferraro is one of three acts who were advertised to be in the Episode 1106 episode, but were not actually televised in the broadcast.
