John Wines, known as the self-proclaimed "Old Grey Guitarist," is a music teacher at the Bourne Academy in Bournemouth, England. Once an electrician by trade, he decided to take up teaching full time after a chance meeting with a guitar teacher inspired him. He wowed the "AGT" judges and audience with his unexpected audition and proved you can never judge a book by its cover. The students and staff at the school John works at have been stunned by and incredibly supportive of his newfound fame.

John Wines' audition in Episode 1803 consisted of playing Queen's "We Will Rock You" on the electric guitar. All 4 judges voted "Yes", sending him to the next round.

John was chosen to advance to the Semifinals.
Semifinals[]
John Wines' Semifinals performance in Episode 1810 consisted of playing a rock version of "Misirlou" from the movie Pulp Fiction on the electric guitar. Simon Cowell buzzed the act, but Howie Mandel gave him a standing ovation. He did not receive enough votes to enter the top 5 of the night in Episode 1811, eliminating him from the competition instead of Oleksandr Leshchenko.
