Joseph O'Brien's audition in Episode 1305 consisted of singing Lionel Richie's "Hello" while playing the piano. Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes," sending him to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts

Joseph O'Brien's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1308 consisted of singing REO Speedwagon's "Can't Fight This Feeling" while playing the piano, after which Simon Cowell requested something different. He then performed an original song. His performance was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals instead of Hunter Price and Leah Mathies.

Joseph O'Brien's Week 3 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1315 consisted of singing his original song "We Could Build a House" while playing the piano. Joseph did not receive enough votes to advance to the Semifinals in Episode 1316, eliminating him from the competition instead of Brian King Joseph.
