20-year-old singer Joseph O'Brien from Columbia, Tennessee says he's never had a girlfriend, never been kissed. He is the son of Michael O’Brien, former lead singer of the Christian band NewSong. [1]

Joseph O'Brien's audition in Episode 1305 consisted of singing Lionel Richie's "Hello" while playing the piano. Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes," sending him to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts

Joseph O'Brien's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1308 consisted of singing REO Speedwagon's "Can't Fight This Feeling" while playing the piano, after which Simon Cowell requested something different.  He then performed an original song.  His performance was strong enough to advance to the Quarterfinals instead of Hunter Price and Leah Mathies.
