Juan Carlos was a rollerblade dancer from Season 9 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Background[]

Rollerblade dancer Juan Carlos was born in Medellin, Colombia, where he spent his early childhood. He lived in Spain as a teenager, but always dreamed of living in the U.S. In 2006, he earned his American citizenship and considers it one of his greatest accomplishments. Although his current stage is at the intersection of Montrose & Allen Parkway in Houston, Texas, his dream is to become a great entertainer. He also attends film school and has a passion for animals, especially his dog Heidi, his cat Stanley and his birds Freddy and Tweety. 1

Audition[]

Juan Carlos's audition in Episode 905 consisted of dancing and posing on rollerblades to Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'." Howard Stern buzzed the act. Although Howard voted "No," Heidi, Mel B, and Howie Mandel voted "Yes," sending Juan to Judgment Week.

Judgment Week[]

Juan Carlos was sorted into the "Variety Acts" category in Judgment Week. His performance in Episode 907 consisted of dancing and posing on rollerblades to "Big Spender." Juan's performance was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals along with JD Anderson and Loop Rawlins in Episode 908.

Quarterfinals[]

Juan Carlos' Week 2 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 911 consisted of dancing on rollerblades in an intricate golden costume to Madonna's "Vogue" and with back-up dancers. Howard Stern buzzed the act. Juan Carlos did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals, eliminating him from the competition in Episode 912, instead of Jaycob Curlee.

Trivia[]

  • Juan Carlos was the only act in the Season 9 Live Shows to be buzzed by any judge.
