Julia Goodwin was a singer from Season 9 of America's Got Talent. She was eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Background[]

Julia Goodwin is from upstate New York. She was the winner of Michael Feinstein’s 2013 Great American Songbook High School Vocal Competition. Julia is currently serving as the Junior Ambassador for the Great American Songbook. She has opened for and performed with five-time Grammy nominated artist Michael Feinstein at Birdland in NYC, and at The Palladium in Indiana. Julia was selected to perform at the New World Center in Miami Florida, as she was a Finalist winner in the 2014 National YoungArts Foundation Competition for Vocal Pop. She was also recognized in the 2014 National YoungArts Vocal Jazz discipline. Julia was invited to join multiple award-winning singers from the worlds of Jazz, Broadway and Cabaret that include Laurel Masse, Amra-Faye Wright and Marilyn Maye and others, honoring the music of composer Larry Kerchner at Stage 72 (Triad Theater) in NYC.

Julia has shared the stage with the Louisville Orchestra at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts (Robert S. Whitney Hall), The Palladium's big band at the Center for the Performing Arts in Indiana, and with multi-platinum recording artist Benny Mardones in upstate New York. Julia was also featured on CBS’s “Inside Edition” and on ABC’s WSYR-TV “Extraordinary,” presented by Carrie Lazarus. At age nine, she began singing the National Anthem at the Carrier Dome for Syracuse University sporting events, The War Memorial Arena for AHL Hockey games, local high school and charity events. Recently, Julia made her NFL debut singing the National Anthem in front of 65,000 people at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans football game. Julia is scheduled to perform with the Pasadena Pops and at the Great American Songbook Hall of Fame Gala in 2014. Her recent album titled “Feeling Goo​d" is available now. 1

Audition[]

Julia Goodwin's audition in Episode 902 consisted of singing "New York State of Mind." Howard SternHeidi KlumMel B, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending Julia to Judgment Week.







Judgment Week[]

Julia Goodwin was sorted into the "Kid Singers" category in Judgment Week. Her performance in Episode 907 consisted of singing her rendition of "Feeling Good" while accompanied by her father playing the piano. Julia's performance was strong enough for the judges to send her to the Quarterfinals along with Quintavious Johnson in Episode 908.















Quarterfinals[]

Julia Goodwin's Week 1 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 909 consisted of singing her rendition of Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris." Julia did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals, eliminating her from the competition in Episode 910 along with JD Anderson, instead of Miguel Dakota.
