Julia Scotti was a stand-up comedienne act from Season 11 of America's Got Talent. She was eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Background

Julia Scotti is from Whiting, New Jersey. Julia was born biologically male, and lived the first 28 years of her life as Rick Scotti. After transitioning and pursuing comedy, she has appeared on the original Comedy Central and was the winner of Showtime’s Funniest Person in America's contest for New Jersey, losing the finals to Ellen DeGeneres. In 2000, she temporarily stepped away from comedy but realized she had some unfinished comedy business and returned to the stage in 2011. In 2014, Julia was one of the winners of the Laughlin Laugh Festival in Nevada, and she has been named one of the Top 5 Transgender Comedians in the country by The Advocate. Now, Julia performs all over the country and is a regular at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, The Borgata, Atlantic City, and many more.

Audition

Julia Scotti's audition in Episode 1104 consisted of joking about her being in the autumn of her years, refusing to give her seat in a lifeboat to a young girl on a sinking ship, and being fat, single, and broke. Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes," sending Julia to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts

Julia Scotti's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1108 consisted of joking about pursuing stand-up comedy because she needs burial money, her family wanting her life insurance money for food, and wanting to lose weight before being cremated. Julia's performance was strong enough for the judges to send her to the Quarterfinals instead of Steven Brundage.

Quarterfinals

Julia Scotti's Week 3 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1115 consisted of joking about her dating life and how she would hate to "spoon." She ended her set by talking about having a man in prison so she would only have to see him once a year on their anniversary. Julia did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 1116, eliminating her from the competition along with Vello Vaher, instead of Edgar.
