Maddie was a singer from Season 17 of America's Got Talent. She finished in 3rd place in her Semifinal week.

Background[]

Madison "Maddie" Taylor Baez has performed the national anthem for many major sports teams and has also appeared on Game of Talents. She also portrayed the child version of Tejano superstar Selena in the Netflix series Selena: The Series.

Audition[]

Maddie was hidden in the audience to surprise the judges with her singing abilities. Her audition in Episode 1702 consisted of singing "Amazing Grace". Moved by her performance, Howie Mandel pressed the Golden Buzzer, sending her directly to the Semifinals.

Semifinals[]

Maddie's Semifinals performance in Episode 1712 consisted of singing Whitney Houston and Kygo's version of Steve Winwood's "Higher Love". Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell all gave her standing ovations. She received enough votes to enter the Top 5 of the night in Episode 1713 instead of Freckled Zelda, and the Top 3 instead of Duo Rings and The Brown Brothers. She finished in 3rd place behind Chapel Hart and Yu Hojin, eliminating her from the competition.

  • Maddie was the lowest placing Golden Buzzer of the season with her being the only Golden Buzzer to not advance to finals or be nominated to be the finals wildcard.
