Maria Popazova was an acrobat from Season 12 of America's Got Talent. She was eliminated in the Judge Cuts.

Background[]

Maria Popazova, also known as Maria Sarach-Popazova, was born "in the sawdust," and dreamed of becoming at an early age, like Mom and Dad, worthy to enter the arena. It was much later than usually occurs in many circus children. Only 14 years old, on the 60th anniversary of his father, national artist of Russia Alexei Saracheno, she made her first appearance on the arena. It was a plastic etude "Thumbelina", finished in first place under the guidance of her mother, Tatiana Sarach, who helped 4 year-old Maria start developing flexebility and who has always been the most near and dear mentor around. Today, Tatiana still remotely assists and guides her daughter in any creative endeavors. [1]

Maria is the wife of fellow season 12 act Maxim Popazov, who she met seven years before her audition. They have a daughter together. The spouses once tried to start an act together, but their work styles were too incompatible.

Audition[]

Maria Popazova's audition in Episode 1205 consisted of hand balancing on a cane structure. She grabbed the top of the structure with her mouth, and balanced on the structure with just her mouth holding it. She then bent her legs over her head, and grabbed her feet. Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes", sending Maria to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts[]

Maria Popazova's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1210 consisted of balancing and contorting her body in a clear aerial sphere. Simon Cowell buzzed the act. Mel B gave her a standing ovation. Maria's performance was not strong enough for the judges to send her to the Quarterfinals, eliminating her from the competition along with Maxim Popazov.
