Mary Bly was a tap dancer from Season 3 of America's Got Talent. She was eliminated in the audition round.

Background[]

Mary Bly knew from a young age that she wanted to tap dance. "My mom tells me that when she was a little girl, her father asked her how to get her more interested in school," said son David Bly. "She said she wanted to learn to dance." After her husband passed away in 1968, David said his mom went through some difficult times. She worked as a nurse's aide and joined a dance troupe in Arizona.

Eventually, she moved to Manhattan, the home of her son Richard, who passed away in 2007. She played some small parts in off-Broadway plays, acted in commercials and had bit parts on soap operas. While living in California with her daughter, Marjorie, she joined an acting troupe of senior citizens. 1
