Master Ken & Todd Woodland were a karate comedy duo from Season 11 of America's Got Talent. It was eliminated in the audition round.

Background[]

Matt Page is the creator of the webshow “Enter The Dojo.” He writes the show and plays Master Ken, while his friend Adam Rottler co-directs the episodes with him. Matt lives and works in New Mexico, as does most of the cast and crew. He actually has a background in various martial arts, including Kenpo. Joe Conway, who plays Todd Woodland (the Blue Belt), is a Kenpo black belt who owns the dojo where they film, which is called ABQ Karate. The rest of the actors (Alex Knight, Rachel Hroncich, Ben Ziegler, Juliet Lopez, Zach Dulin and Katalina Parrish) are all New Mexico actors. “Enter The Dojo” is comedy web series on YouTube. Episodes range between 5 and 10 minutes in length.

The style of the show is perhaps best described as “The Office” meets “Karate Kid”. The show centers around an egocentric martial arts instructor named Master Ken, who teaches his own homemade brand of fighting called “Ameri-Do-Te” to a band of misfit civilians. [1]

The Master Ken character is an 11th Degree Black Belt in the most dangerous martial art in the world: Ameri-Do-Te! He also stars in the hit web series "Enter The Dojo". Master Ken grew up on the mean streets of Albuquerque after traveling the world to learn every martial art known to man. He then became a straight-to-video action star and still holds the record for the top-grossing film in Vietnam (Titled "American Groin Stomper"). After a lawsuit ended his movie career he took the best parts of his years of training and created his own brand of street fighting which the world now knows as "Ameri-Do-Te". [2]

The Todd Woodland character is a Blue Belt. A former resident of Silver City, New Mexico and member of the militia group known as Concerned Citizens of Catron County (a.k.a. C4) Mr. Woodland has become one of Master Ken’s most dedicated and loyal students. He holds multiple certifications in skills such as juggling, CPR and fire watching. He is dyslexic and says his favorite book is “Par and Weace”. [3]

Audition[]

Master Ken & Todd Woodland's audition in Episode 1102 consisted of Ken demonstrating different ways to attack Todd's groin. Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all buzzed the act. All four judges voted "No," eliminating the duo from the competition.
