Mat Ricardo was a danger act from Season 14 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Judge Cuts.

Background[]

Mat Ricardo is a variety performer from London. He has won the Herald Angel Award for Theatre, Inaugural British Cabaret Award For Variety, Kleinkunst Cabaret Prize, Stagetalk Show Of The Year and Arts Award Pick Of The Fringe.

Mat's success with his solo theatre shows, at festivals, and on national and international tours, has earned him several theatre awards, two runs at the London International Mime Festival, performances as far afield as Australia, South Korea, Finland, Germany and Belgium, a week at the Purcell Room, in London's South Bank Centre, and several London West End sell-outs.

His groundbreaking work merges verbal and physical comedy, storytelling, dance, and of course, his trademark spectacular feats of dexterity. 

In 2018, he appeared on the fifth season of the Italian competition series Tu Si Que Vales [1][2]

Audition[]

Matt Ricardo's audition was not televised, but it consisted of playing the "knife game" blindfolded, which involves stabbing a knife between his fingers at a rapid speed. Afterwards, he invited Terry Crews on stage and performed the knife game on Terry's hand as well. Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes", sending Mat to the Judge Cuts.

Judge Cuts[]

Mat Ricardo's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1408 consisted of chopping a carrot quickly with a knife with one hand, chopping into his arm with it, and then performing a tablecloth trick. Mat's performance was not strong enough for the judges to advance to the Quarterfinals eliminating him from the competition along with Lamont Landers, Gingzilla, and Duo Fusion.

After The Show[]

In 2020 Ricardo auditioned for ''La France a un incroyable talent'', and qualified for the live shows following his audition in the third episode, however he was either eliminated or withdrew before the Semi-Finals.
