Matt Mauser is a singer act from Season 16 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the deliberations, but returned for the wildcard show where he was eliminated again.

Background

Matt Mauser is a songwriter, solo artist, pop/rock bandleader, and Sinatra-style crooner, having spent more than two decades onstage and in the writing room. A lifelong resident of Southern California, he was an all-American swimmer during his younger years before shifting his focus to music.

These days, music isn't just a job; it's also a source of therapy for Matt, who lost his wife, Christina Mauser, in the January 2020 helicopter crash that also killed NBA great Kobe Bryant and seven others. Kobe hired Matt to create the music for an educational podcast called "The Punies." Kobe and Christina also worked together, coaching a girls' basketball team at the Mamba Sports Academy. Their loss was tragic to an entire world of basketball fans, and it was unspeakably tough for Matt. [1]

Audition

Matt Mauser's audition in Episode 1606 consisted of singing "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)" by Phil Collins. All 4 judges voted "Yes", sending Matt to the next round.

Deliberations

Matt’s card was seen at deliberations but the judges did not select him to advance to the quarterfinals, eliminating him from the competition.

Wildcard Show

Matt Mauser returned as one of the five acts competing for the Wild Card. In the Wild Card show, his performance consisted of singing Michael Bublé's "The Way You Look Tonight". Matt did not receive enough votes to advance to the Quarterfinals, eliminating him from the competition.
