Maxim Popazov was a hand balancer from Season 12 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Judge Cuts.

Background[]

Maxim Popazov is a producer and artist of Nikulin Circus who is the part of the seventh generation of the 150 year old world famous Popazov-Koch Russian circus dynasty. Maxim is well known around the world for his three unique hand balancing acts: hand balancing on pedestal in the style of the famous ukrainian performer Anatoly Zalevsky, "The Advocate" act with books (directed by the unique and contemporary choreographer Ruslan Ganeev), Balancing on chairs by renowned russian director Valentin Gneushev.Maxim has presented his act on many famous stages around the world including Circus Krone in Munich, Monte Carlo Circus festival, Swiss national circus Knie, Schuhbecks Teatro in Munich, Royal Theater Carre in Amsterdam , World Christmas Circus in Stuttgart and Frierdrichstadt Palace in Berlin.

He currently lives in Las Vegas and performs in the show "Absinthe" at Caesars Palace. Maxim opened up a whole new market with his contacts to producers, directors, choreographers and artists from all over the world to produce in conjunction with Clemens Zipse, Thomas Dürr und Ursula Haug, the Teatro Colombino Dinner show for four years in Freiburg, Germany. Maxim is the husband of fellow season 12 act Maria Popazova, who he met seven years before his audition. They have a daughter together. The spouses once tried to start an act together, but their work styles were too incompatible.

Audition[]

Maxim Popazov's audition in Episode 1205 consisted of balancing on top of nine chairs on top of a table. He stacked three chairs on top of each other, and he balanced on top of the chairs while shifting them. He then took three more chairs and set them on top of the third chair. He then took another two chairs and stood them on top of the two chairs on the top. Finally, he placed a cake in between the two chairs and did a hand stand on top of the top two chairs. Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes", sending Maxim to the Judge Cuts.


Judge Cuts[]

Maxim Popazov's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1210 consisted of building a stack of eight wooden chairs and then balancing on top of it. Maxim's performance was not strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals, eliminating him from the competition along with his wife Maria Popazova.

After The Show[]

Later in 2017, Maxim Popazov appeared on the fourth season of the Italian competition series Tu Si Que Vales [2]
