Melody Caballero was a contortionist from Season 8 of America's Got Talent. She was eliminated in the Vegas Round, but she returned for the Quarterfinals after another contestant was unable to perform. Melody was eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Background[]

Melody Caballero from Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the youngest superstars of Circus Caballero, a family circus that travels the U.S. and is five generations deep. Melody is a third-generation contortionist; both her mother and grandmother have performed to sold-out events throughout the country and Mexico.

When not performing her contortion act, Melody enjoys swinging and flying high in the air in her family's 30-foot trapeze act. She loves the Beatles, treasures her mint-condition Scary Spice doll (still in the box!), and carries her Gumby doll with her wherever she goes. 1

Audition[]

Melody Caballero's audition was never televised, but Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending her to the Vegas Round.

Vegas Round[]

Melody Caballero was sorted into the "Kids Variety" category in the Vegas Round. Her performance in Episode 808 consisted of contorting her body, balancing her entire body with one hand on a stake attached to a table, and then balancing her entire body with her mouth clasped to another attached stake as the table spun. Melody's performance was not strong enough for the judges to send her to the Quarterfinals, eliminating her from the competition along with Lil Demon in Episode 809.

Quarterfinals[]

After Rong Niu withdrew from the competition for personal reasons, Melody Caballero was brought back to the competition by the judges to replace her. Melody's Week 5 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 818 consisted of contorting her body so she could perform a handstand with the soles of her feet on her back, balancing her entire body with her mouth on an apparatus sticking out from a platform, and bending her head backwards to bite and hold on to a flower on the platform, all to Katy Perry's "Not Like the Movies." Melody did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 819, eliminating her from the competition along with 2Unique and Sam Johnson, instead of Catapult Entertainment.
