R.J. Cantu was a magician from Season 8 of America's Got Talent. He was eliminated in the Vegas Round.

Background[]

Actor/Magician R.J. Cantu, has been surprising audiences and changing magic for over 17 years. He performs at some of Hollywood's top venues, and is a resident at the Magic Castle in Hollywood CA.

One might also recognize R.J. as the vampire "Rico" in MTV's hit show "Death Valley" and as "Mac" on ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager." He is currently filming multiple films with legendary Horror Director David Decoteau and Screenwriter/Director Steven Peros. Some films include Snow White: A Deadly Summer, Footprints, Teenage Bank Heist which just recently aired on The Lifetime Movie network and more. 1

Audition[]

R.J. Cantu's audition was never televised, but although Heidi Klum voted "No," Howard Stern, Mel B, and Howie Mandel voted "Yes," sending him to the Vegas Round.

Vegas Round[]

R.J. Cantu was sorted into the "Magicians" category in the Vegas Round. His performance in Episode 809 consisted of creating the illusion of his assistant levitating and then making her disappear. R.J.'s audition was not strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals, eliminating him from the competition along with Naathan Phan in the same episode.
