Shevon Nieto was a singer act from Season 15 of America's Got Talent.  She withdrew from the competition prior to the Judge Cuts.

Background

Shevon Nieto competed in the Olympics for the first time as a runner in 2004. She then ran in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. In 2016, she got a phone call that her boyfriend (now husband), Jamie, had slipped on a high jump (he was also an Olympic high jumper) and hit his head. He became paralyzed from his chest down. Although Shevon was training for her third Olympic games, when she got the news, she decided to quit. During this time, she found a lot of comfort in music. She started writing and singing songs that she wrote for Jamie.

Audition

Shevon Nieto's audition in Episode 1506 consisted of singing her original song "Through The Good And Bad". Howie Mandel, Eric Stonestreet, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes", sending her to the next round.

Judge Cuts

Shevon Nieto confirmed in an interview that she withdrew from the competition due to giving birth to her son, as well as concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. [1]
