Siro-A was a dance group from Season 10 of America's Got Talent. The group was eliminated in the Semifinals.

Background[]

SIRO-A is a seven member Japanese entertainment performance group from Sendai, Japan. Their name SIRO-A (SIRO = White, colorless in Japanese) means "belonging to no group, impossible to define as anybody." SIRO-A fuses mime, groundbreaking visual effects, and a techno soundtrack to create a whole new entertainment "Technodelic & Visual Show."

The group was formed in 2002 in Sendai. Following their success at Venezia Young Art Performance in 2004, they received the Bronze Award at GEISHA#7 the next year.

In 2008, they performed at AMUSE 30th anniversary memorial project, “Tokyo Theater FES `08” as representation from Sendai and won second place. In 2010, they performed at “Summer Sonic 2010”, which was followed by their performance to 30,000 people at “Expo 2010 Shanghai China”.

In 2011, SIRO-A won the prestigious “Spirit of the Fringe” Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and received international media exposure. Their international success was followed by their first European tour in German, Denmark, Austria, and France 2012. In 2013, they performed in the long-running Leicester Square Theatre in London. Siro-A's audition in Episode 1001 consisted of dancing and moving in response to video projected onto five blank canvases. Effects included overlaid colors and cloned dancers. Howard SternHeidi KlumMel B, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending Siro-A to the Judge Cuts round.

Judge Cuts[]

Siro-A's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1011 consisted of dancing and moving in response to video projected onto five blank canvases. The members created optical illusions including elongated body parts, flight, duplication, and rainbow colors. Howie Mandel gave the group a standing ovation. Guest judge Piers Morgan loved the group so much that he pressed the Golden Buzzer, sending Siro-A straight to the Quarterfinals.

Quarterfinals[]

Siro-A's Week 1 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1012 consisted of dancing and moving in response to video projected onto multiple blank canvases. Projections portrayed musical instruments, various shapes, the faces of the four judges, and 4-6 letter words. They danced to an instrumental version of Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way." Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel all gave the group standing ovations. Siro-A received enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 1013 instead of Craig and Micheline.

Semifinals[]

Siro-A's Week 1 Semifinals performance in Episode 1018 consisted of dancing and moving in response to video projections of different colored rectangles. Projections helped the group portray duplication and flight optical illusions. They danced to an instrumental version of Calvin Harris's "Summer." Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel gave the group standing ovations. Siro-A did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Finals in Episode 1019, eliminating the group from the competition instead of Drew Lynch.

Trivia[]

  • Siro-A auditioned for season 9 of Britain's Got Talent, where they made it past the auditions but did not proceed to the live shows. They were the first act to audition for Britain's Got Talent & America's Got Talent in the same year.

Siro-A began traveling around the world, performing at giant conventions in London, Tokyo, Wales, and many other cities. As their group of fans grew, their dreams of becoming famous began to unfold and come true.

In 2019, Siro-A (or some members of) competed on the third season of Asia's Got Talent under the name "Techno Circus". They were eliminated in the Judge Cuts.
