New York native Summer Lacy has worked as a professional circus aerialist since 2007. With her background in artistic gymnastics, aerial acrobatics and tribal fusion belly dance, her graceful and awe-inspiring performances have captivated audiences at leading venues including Webster Hall, New York Hall of Science, Baruch Performing Arts Center, and Gotham Hall.
Her performance specialties include Static and Single Point Trapeze, Lyra, Chains, Silks, Hammock, Aerial Cage, Invented Apparatus and Duo & Trio Aerial Acts. Her diverse skills, grace, creative movement and natural beauty led to Summer being cast in the off Broadway show ”Takura: A Contemporary Circus Faerie Tale.”
Summer is a resident instructor & performer at Circus Warehouse, where she works alongside the industry’s best, teaching aerial arts to professional track as well as recreational students. Her focus on strength training, injury prevention and proper technique prepare the next generation of circus stars for the physical demands of their chosen work. While her focus on skill building, choreography, and movement quality give her students the practical skills needed to build and perform acts and get them work nationwide. Regarded by her students as patient and encouraging, their respect for Summer’s experience and outstanding performances inspire them to stay focused and work to achieve their goals.
Summer has also performed and instructed with, New York Dance Parade & Festival, New York Circus Arts Academy, Dragonfly Productions and CircoGoGo. 1
Summer Lacy's audition in Episode 708 consisted of performing an aerial dance piece while hanging from the ceiling on chains. Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending her to the Vegas Round.
Summer Lacy was one of the Standby Acts in the Vegas Round. She was sorted into the "Acrobats" category. Her performance in Episode 713 consisted of performing aerial feats using a hoop hanging from the ceiling, at one point with only her neck hanging on the hoop. Her audition was not strong enough for the judges to send her to the Quarterfinals, eliminating her from the competition along with Benn Mendoza Circus.
