Summerwind Skippers was a jump rope group from Season 6 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Quarterfinals, but they returned for the Wild Card Show. They were later eliminated again in the Semifinals.
Background[]
Located in Boise, Idaho, the Summerwind Skippers Jump Rope Team has been performing together as a group since 2009, but each member of the team has been dedicated to competitive jump rope since childhood. After individually honing their skills on different teams, the six members of the Summerwind Skippers came together as long-time friends to create a performance-based group intended to promote the lesser-known sport of jump rope. Each member of the Summerwind Skippers has earned national and world recognition, including a World Rope Skipping Championship, scores of national titles and feature appearances in commercials, movies and on television programs. 1
Audition[]
The Summerwind Skippers's audition in Episode 606 consisted of both single-rope jumping and double dutch jumping while performing acrobatic tricks such as cartwheels and hoping and sliding under the ropes. Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel, and possibly Piers Morgan all voted "Yes," sending the act to the Vegas Round.
Vegas Round[]
Summerwind Skippers was one of the Judges' Favorites in the Vegas Round. It was sorted into the "Acrobats" category. Its performance in Episode 611 consisted of more double dutch jumping and acrobatic tricks to "Pump It". Its audition was strong enough for the judges to send it to the Quarterfinals along with Duo Aero and Zuma Zuma.
Quarterfinals[]
The Summerwind Skippers' Quarterfinals performance in Episode 617 consisted of jump roping and performing acrobatic tricks to "Party Rock Anthem." They did not receive enough votes to finish in at least fifth place in America's Vote, eliminating them from the competition in Episode 618 along with Ian Johnson and Purrfect Angelz.
Wild Card[]
The Summerwind Skippers were brought back by Piers Morgan for the Wild Card Show. Their performance in Episode 623 consisted of jump roping and performing acrobatic tricks with flaming ropes to "Blow." The skippers were revealed to have finished in either fourth or fifth place in America's Vote in Episode 624. In the Judges' Choice, although Howie Mandel did not vote for the act, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne both voted for them, sending them to the Semifinals instead of The Fiddleheads.
Semifinals[]
The Summerwind Skippers' Semifinals performance in Episode 627 consisted of jump roping, dancing, and performing acrobatic tricks with multiple jump ropes to "Till The World Ends." Piers Morgan buzzed the act because he noticed that they made two mistakes, and he believed they therefore deserved a buzz. The act did not receive enough votes to finish in at least sixth place in America's Vote, eliminating them from the competition in Episode 628 along with Fatally Unique and Professor Splash, instead of Landon Swank.
