The John Rothman Dancers is a dance group act from Season 11 of America's Got Talent.
Background
As singer, dancer, choreographer and composer, John Rothman had his own show at Johannesburg’s Kyalami Ranch Hotel in South Africa for sixteen years. An international tour included appearances in London, Paris, Las Vegas, Singapore and Bangkok.
He became a resident composer for Louise Smit Television Productions in Johannesburg, specializing in children’s programs. He co-scripted and composed all the music for “Pumpkin Patch” which aired for nine years. He was also responsible for numerous songs in the “Kideo” series which aired for fifteen and close to 100 children's songs for “Snazzy Stories,” “Fundani Nathi” and “Fun Factory” (Linda Korsten’s Fun House Productions in South Africa)
John was the winner of the 1986 Johannesburg Centenary Songwriting Competition, a nation-wide event that attracted hundreds of entries. Commendations from State Senators, Mayors, Public Officials and Dignitaries for “Tapestry” and its contribution to the cultural development of young people in Las Vegas, Nevada. This musical for the youth enjoyed 55 performances during Las Vegas’ Centennial year in 2005. [1]
He is currently involved as a dance director of a senior dance group in Las Vegas, Nevada. The audition group includes female dancers Rose, Sylvia, Jane, and Sally.
Audition
The John Rothman Dancers' audition in Episode 1103 consisted of dancing as a group to ragtime music. Although Howie Mandel voted "No, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell voted "Yes," sending the group to the Judge Cuts.
