Unexpected Step Team was a dance group from Season 4 of America's Got Talent. It was possibly eliminated in the Vegas Round.
Background[]
The Unexpected Step Team was founded in early spring 2006 at the Saratoga Gym in Binghamton, NY. The Unexpected Step Team is an after school program at the Boys & Girls Club of Binghamton and includes 24 members and four coaches. The step team originally consisted of 10 girls and one coach but has quickly expanded to 22 girls, two boys, and four coaches.
Each member of the team is required to maintain at least an 80 average in school or be actively enrolled in a certified tutoring program. The coaching staff works with members' parents, teachers, and community members to ensure that the team represents themselves in the most positive light possible. The Unexpected has given these young people a voice, allowing them to express themselves through chants and rhythmic dance. It has also allowed them to form lifelong friendships and more importantly supportive relationships with adults. 1
Audition[]
Unexpected Step Team's audition in Episode 401 consisted of the members of the group clapping their legs and hands and synchronized step dancing. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and David Hasselhoff all voted "Yes", sending the group to the Vegas Round.
Vegas Round[]
It is unknown whether or not Unexpected Step Team was present during the Vegas Round as it was never seen, but even if it was, it did not advance to the Quarterfinals.
