Virginia State University Gospel Chorale was a gospel choir from Season 8 of America's Got Talent. It was eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Background[]

The Virginial State University Gospel Chorale is the most requested performing group on the campus of VSU. Its primary mission is to provide Gospel music for the University and community. The VSU Gospel Chorale performs for a variety of commitments, to include public concerts, touring, church events, recording sessions, and University ceremonies. As part of music education, the Chorale performs at music conventions, Gospel festivals throughout the country, and a number of primary schools during March, which has been deemed Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM) by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). 1

The chorale's lead singer is named Bernard Walker.

Audition[]

The Virginia State University Gospel Chorale's audition in Episode 804 consisted of singing a gospel song while dancing in tandem. Howard SternHeidi KlumMel B, and Howie Mandel all voted "Yes," sending the chorale to the Vegas Round.








Vegas Round[]

Virginia State University Gospel Chorale was one of thirty acts to advance straight to the Quarterfinals in New York without performing in Las Vegas in Episode 808.







Quarterfinals[]

Virginia State University Gospel Chorale's Week 5 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 818 consisted of singing their gospel version of Madonna's "Like a Prayer." The group did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 819, eliminating it from the competition along with Selena Mykenzie Gordon, instead of Dave Fenley.
