Witches in Bikinis was a band from Season 4 of America's Got Talent. It was eliminated in the audition round.
Background[]
In the 1980s, Bill Rozar wrote songs inspired by the Wizard of Oz, Jonathan Richman, Halloween, witches and horror movies. These songs sat ensconced in a cassette tape until 2004 when Bill’s wife, Julie, inspired him to re-record them with Janelle M. Lannan.
A performance group formed in March 2005 in Brooklyn, New York for a performance of “Witches In Bikinis” with one singer and two witch back-ups at The Slipper Room in the Manhattan’s Lower East Side for a fundraiser. Performances began in October 2005. Their first CD was released in October 2005. Live musicians replaced pre-recorded CD September 2006. Their second CD was released August 2008. Audition[]
Witches in Bikini's audition in Episode 403 consisted of stripping cloaks to reveal bikinis and singing as a group. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and David Hasselhoff all buzzed the act. All three judges voted "No", eliminating the group from the competition.
After the Show[]
The Witches in Bikinis group went on hiatus in December 2009, then became inactive. A new group formed in June 2011 for a "Vignettes of the Apocalypse" show with Endtimes Productions. 2
