Background[]
Yolanda Mayor is from Miami, Florida. She has been singing since she was two years old. When she was growing up, her parents had an auto repair shop. She would sing for her parents' favorite customers. She has struggled her entire life with her weight. For a long time, she thought she had to change who she was to succeed.
At this point in her life, she realized life without music would be devastating. She wants to see the world, and she wants the world to see her.
Audition[]
Yoli Mayor's audition in Episode 1201 originally consisted of singing Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You". However, Simon Cowell stopped her during this performance when he felt her song choice was not a good fit. Yoli then sang Ed Sheeran's "Make It Rain". Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Simon Cowell all voted "Yes", sending Yoli to the Judge Cuts.
Judge Cuts[]
Yoli Mayor's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1208 consisted of singing Rihanna's "Love on the Brain". Howie Mandel, Mel B, guest judge DJ Khaled, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell all gave her standing ovations. Yoli's performance was strong enough for the judges to send her to the Quarterfinals along with Evie Clair.

Yoli Mayor's Week 1 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1211 consisted of singing Rag'n'Bone Man's "Human". Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell gave her standing ovations. Yoli finished in sixth, seventh or eighth place in America's Vote. In the Dunkin' Save, she received fewer votes than Christian Guardino. In the Judges' Choice, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell voted for her, but Mel B and Howie Mandel did not, forcing a tiebreaker; whichever act had received more votes from America would progress. Yoli received more votes than Just Jerk, advancing her to the Semifinals in Episode 1212.
Semifinals[]
Yoli Mayor's Week 1 Semifinals performance in Episode 1217 consisted of singing James Arthur's "Say You Won't Let Go". Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell gave her standing ovations. Yoli did not receive enough votes to advance to the Finals in Episode 1218, eliminating her from the competition along with Johnny Manuel.
After the Show[]
Yoli auditioned for the 20th season of American Idol in 2022, coincidentally on the same season as fellow quarterfinalist Christian Guardino. She was eliminated in the Showstoppers round of Hollywood Week, missing out on the top 24.
